Life Coaching can help you live your life on purpose.
Are you
striving to make changes in your life regarding your
Career, Relationships,
Leisure,
Health, Finances,
or
Spirituality?
If you are working full time you are spending a minimum of 2080 hours a year at
work.
BUT - It is only work if you don’t like what you are doing!
You are not your job.
Plan to move out of the job you currently hold because you will.
Read “Who Moved My Cheese” by Dr. Spencer Johnson.
If you want to start living your life on purpose – with a focus on making your career more like fun and less like work – here are some of the questions you might explore with your life coach:
Is your current career the one you envisioned for your life?
Where do you want to be right now?
As a Certified Career Coach and a Professional Business Image Consultant, I can help you make smart career choices and develop image solutions to enhance your brand and sell you as the person you want the world to see.
If you are leaving your job today, here are some things you can do:
Make a list of all of the people you know – don’t call them yet!
Write down all of the things you really like to do, job related or not.
Write down all of the things you liked about the job you just lost.
Write down all of the things you are happy to be rid of associated with
that job.
Take a deep breath.

Relationships are living things that are constantly changing. In Nature, every living thing experiences cycles: birth, growth, rest or death and renewal. These cycles are also applicable to relationships – personal or professional – and anticipating and planning for these stages can bring balance and great joy to your life and those around you.
Life coaching can’t fix relationships, the past or people. Life coaching can guide you to find ways to work within or without the relationship and manage the change by:
Visualizing the life you want.
Creating a strategic plan to live the life you want.
Completing goals you create.
Story: A man had a terrible argument with his son. The man said terrible things to his son. The man later felt bad about what he had said and asked his son for forgiveness but the son would not forgive the father. Time passed and the son still would not forgive the father.
After much time had passed and he had still not been forgiven, the man went to a wise man and said, “My son and I have had a terrible argument and I said terrible things to him. I asked his forgiveness but he would not forgive me, what should I do? I love him and want him to forgive me.”
The wise man said, “Go home, find a feather pillow, cut it open and spread the feathers inside the home and outside the home. Then when a week has passed if he has not forgiven you come back to see me.”
The man did as the wise man instructed and spread the feathers inside his home and outside but after a week the son had not forgiven the father so he went to see the wise man. The man told the wise man of the dilemma – the wise man told the father to return to his home and put the feathers back into the pillow.
Note: We cannot change the past. It no longer exists except in our memory. We must only be concerned with the present. The present is in fact the only thing we have for sure at this moment!
Life coaching teaches you to live in the present. Make your life and your relationships what you want now!
If you are having a relationship crisis today, here are some tips:
At this moment this is how you feel – know it will change! Nothing too good or
too bad lasts forever!
Be in the present – not in the past or future. To do this concentrate on
your breathing!
Breathe
Rest

Is rest, relaxation and fun missing from your life? Are you so busy you can’t even remember what rest and relaxation feel like? Do rest and relaxation for you often take the form of sitting numbly in front of the TV, mentally and physically exhausted, and shoving in some fast food that is so forgettable that you can’t remember from one meal to the next what you ate?
You can break this cycle – and life coaching can help. Having worked with hospice patients for a number of years, one thing I know for sure is that at the end of your life, you will not wish you worked another hour or minute or second. The key is to find down time and embrace the power of the pause to help amplify all the areas of your life . Great musicians and great speakers know the power of pause – and so can you!
Working with a life coach helps you create a strategy for adding the fun back into your life on purpose. Creating a balanced life that embraces each day and encourages you to live in the present, celebrating successes, learning from every experience and having some fun!
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Places to go: Art Museums, Gardens, Historical Monuments, Walking Tours, Fountains, Parks, Spectacular Views, Zoo
Sports to Play or Watch: Soccer, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Bowling
Games to Play: Cards, Jacks, Marbles, Checkers, Risk, Monopoly, Hopscotch, Jump Rope, Hide and Seek, Tag, Kick the Can, I spy, Bingo, Catch
Physical activities: Bicycling, Skating, Rollerblading, Skateboarding, Running, Jogging, Golfing, Swimming, Water Skiing, Snow Skiing, Snow Shoeing, Hiking
Hobbies: Fishing, Kayaking, Boating, Clam Digging, Crafts, Scrapbooking, Knitting, Reading
The Arts: Finger Painting, Poetry Reading, Ballet Recitals, Theater, Concerts, Drawing
Everyday Leisure: Take a nap, Make a memory, Eat a bowl of chocolate ice cream, Get a massage, Give a massage, Plant a seed, Watch a child play (and do what they do), Laugh, Dance, Sit in Silence, Watch the sunrise, Watch the sunset.
Now add your ideas to the list!
What does perfect rest and relaxation look like to you?
What engages you so deeply that you aren’t aware of time passing?
Why are you not including leisure in your life?
If you need a break today, here are some things you can do:
Say thank you 7 times before your day ends.
Insert a rest 5 minutes before each new activity for the remainder of today,
for example:
• Before you get out of the car to go into the office sit for 5 minutes and rest.
• Before you go back to work after lunch (even if you ate at your desk) sit for
5 minutes and do nothing except rest.
• Before you leave for home take five minutes to just sit and relax.
• Before dinner take 5 minutes to sit and relax.
• Before bed take 5 minutes with the television off to just sit and relax.
Putting together a life plan that includes attention to your health is critical. Your life’s journey will be determined in part by the condition of your body and your nutrition.
It just makes good sense to have a well tuned vehicle for a long and enjoyable journey. Whether your mode of transportation is a sports car, a van or a jet, it is important that it is in good enough shape to get you where you want to go. If not, you may experience a breakdown along the way which will detract from the joy of the journey and may even stop the dream before it starts.
Health resources and opinions abound and there are countless diet books and life style experts. Here are a few information sources that are often overlooked:
Primary Care Physician
Dentist
Ophthalmologist
Nutritionist
Personal Fitness Trainer
Insurance provider’s website

Life coaching can help you find a healthy lifestyle that works in your world by creating a strategic plan with a positive approach designed just for you.
Whatever your health crisis is, here are some immediate things you can do:
Contact your healthcare professional – then
Lower stress by focusing on your breathing.
Be still for 5 minutes before each new task throughout the day.
Meditate on the body part that is giving you concern focusing all your good thoughts
of healing toward that area.
Spend some time in nature.
Take a walk.
Make a list of all of the things you already do that are good for a healthy lifestyle.
Life coaches are not financial advisors, however, as life coach I can work with you to set specific, measurable, attainable, results oriented and time related goals regarding your finances.
I will hold you accountable for achieving those goals and help you overcome blocks to your own success.
Through life coaching, you can create a strategy for your finances that will enable you to live your life – and spend and save your money – on purpose not by accident.
Money Rule of thumb: People first, then money, then things.
If you
do not have money to eat today, please contact Oregon food bank at
503. 282. 0555.
If you do
not have a place to stay, contact any church or the police station nearest
you and they will give you a referral (do
not dial 911).
Check on
line for financial assistance or benevolence fund.
Money
circulates in and out of our lives – many people have lost everything they
own
and have had gained it all back again.
Whatever
your financial situation – it will change! Nothing too good or too bad
lasts forever.
Exploring your life purpose may be the most important project you undertake. The ultimate goal of coaching people to find their life’s purpose is to help them explore answers to these questions so they can become the very best version of themselves:
Who am I?
Where did I come from?
What am I here for?
How do I do it?
Where am I going?
Who will decide?
In this life coaching experience you can expect to create a mission statement unique to your life purpose and a vision for the life you choose to live. This is not about what you should do, but about who you are.
Work in this area would focus on creating a strategic plan and set of goals designed for your life, your world. You can expect to use unconventional goal setting techniques that work. You can expect your dreams to be taken seriously. You can expect to have fun…and you can expect to be changed!
Awakening your spirit to find your purpose will change all aspects of your life. It will feel like you are living life in high definition.
If you are having a spiritual crisis today, it may be due to a loss. Here are some things you can do:
Breathe. Be still.
Know that fear and trust cannot occupy the same chair.
Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Acceptance and Depression are normal feelings
associated with loss.
Simplify and eliminate
stress.
Be tolerant of your limits.
Be with supportive
comforting people.
Give yourself the same love and attention you would give your best friend.
Talk about your grief.
Talk about the person that is absent. Celebrate your memories. Love does not end
with death.
Do what is right for you …make a plan.
